The nice thing about having everything rolled up into GCP is that it actually has a pretty robust carbon footprint calculator, which takes into account the regions that the data centers are in that we are using, and also factors in what they are doing to specifically reduce scope 2 emissions.
Additionally, we made some major changes at the start of 2024 to account for our growth. What this means is Beni is already super efficient at using AI, and as we grow our user base and divert more new purchases to secondhand ones, the emissions we offset will increase A LOT, while our emissions from AI will remain fairly constant.
